Every New Era Requires Evolution

No one understands this better than the people "Online & IRL" is dedicated to—entrepreneurs, marketers, and creative visionaries who are constantly evolving and iterating, relentless in creating better experiences for the people around them.

With the rise of artificial intelligence, we’ve been catapulted out of the information age into a new era where AI impacts every facet of our lives—especially for creators and entrepreneurs navigating the competitive creator economy.

The opportunities in the creator economy are limitless. It’s never been easier to make money doing what you love. But the rules are clear: you have to be good at content, and you have to be consistent.

Optimizing for Algorithms Doesn’t Feel Good

As I set out to build my personal brand and evolve my business to serve others, I aimed to create authentic connections online. It felt simple—we’re more connected than ever before, right? All I had to do was be authentic.

Turns out, optimizing your life for algorithms isn’t just exhausting—it disconnects us from authentic experiences and relationships, both online and IRL.

For years, I was in a vicious cycle. Whether online or offline, I could never truly log off. The responsibility to inspire, entertain, and educate on multiple platforms—through short-form and long-form content—was overwhelming. Telling my story while living it added layers of complexity to my perception of reality. The more I connected, the more isolated I felt.

The Creator Economy’s Hidden Struggles

I worked with entrepreneurs and creators at every stage of their journey, from aspiring visionaries to those who had achieved significant success. This struggle wasn’t unique.

Building an audience often comes hand in hand with exploiting our identities. Dopamine highs and doomscrolling lows, bias algorithms, information overload, imposter syndrome, and fleeting trends—these forces haven’t delivered the creative and financial freedom we imagined.

The greatest innovators of our time face a crisis of authenticity, fulfillment, and self-expression. Human connection is compromised.

But we have the power to create a better way.

Break [Your Ideas] of the Internet

As the oldest daughter, and someone who’s broken maybe 1–3 rules in her life, I’m here to tell you: the way forward requires us to break the internet. Not the literal internet, but our ideas of the internet.

We need to:

  • Do things differently.

  • See things from new perspectives.

  • Lead boldly.

Together, we can shift digital culture in a direction that truly honors our human experiences. Technology may get old, but connection never will.
